Vivienne Westwood, Spring/Summer 09 (scroll down to read the review)
Vivienne Westwood chose to celebrate the style of the unloved and generally misunderstood: the gypsy traveller. Rather than focus on the negative, she focused on the nomadic spirit of the romantic traveller who loves to sing and dance.
That meant gold teeth, gold chains, a cigarette behind the ear and a look that was hardened and rough yet very stylish. Westwoods castings are always strong, and definitely different from the rest of the pack, and this time she added in some real characters.
Within the clever styling there were plenty of signature pieces, like big pants and snug blazers. According to Westwood her man is cunning, cold and ruthless, but he is also a true charmer.
