Versus
At the fledgling age of 28, Christopher Kane already exhibits characteristics of the seasoned fashion pro. For one thing, the designer knows how to properly show a collection, by first presenting a nugget of an idea and then slowly and clearly letting it unfold until a sartorial crescendo is hit. This season at Versus he did just that, starting with bone corseting detail, first as leather detail on the outside of a wool coat, and then moving into sheer inserts at the waists of dresses. The end result was a big bang of swinging dresses with sparkling graphics that became a cohesive finish to his well-thought out start.
