Salvatore Ferragamo, Autumn/Winter 2008 (scroll down to read review)
Salvatore Ferragamo
For her debut at Salvatore Ferragamo, creative director Cristina Ortiz (her CV includes Brioni, Lanvin and Prada) went for a fluid silhouette and a look that was ‘very chic’ and decidedly ‘not boring’. By Ferragamo's standards it was much more sexy, and by Milan too for that matter (aside from Versace), but then she had tried to ‘pepper it up a bit’. That meant short dresses cut in silk jersey, often mixed with chainmail; some featuring Ferragamo’s famous printed foulards of animals and florals. Ortiz also reworked some of the brand’s signature shoes into towering 12cm platforms.
