Roberto Cavalli, Autumn/Winter 2008 (scroll down to read review)
Roberto Cavalli
Roberto Cavalli showed his softer side declaring that he believes overt sexiness is finished, and calling his collection the debut of sensuality. Pretty dresses (innocent but seductive nevertheless) embroidered with branches of wisteria and mimosa opened the show and pastel-coloured debutant dresses closed it. Length, as at Prada and Dolce & Gabbana was well below the knee, sometimes all the way to mid-calf. This being Cavalli, decoration was of course abundant, with Broderie Anglais, sequins, delicate lace and rich patchworks of embroidery, print and fur. It all had a refined Latin American aristo feel.
