Aquascutum, Spring/Summer '09 (scroll down to read the review)
Aquascutum
The Aquascutum show, almost entirely in blue, was ladylike and elegant, yet contained a few new sporty elements like silky T-shirts. Interest lay not only in the layers of colour (anything as long as its blue) but in the combination of cloth, mixing shine with matte and heavy with soft.
Tailoring was easy when cut in jersey or georgette, more often than not pleated. There were plenty of developments in texture; silk organza was layered over delicate embroidery and jacquards were wadded like superlight eiderdowns and then sprayed for a Rothko effect, or embroidered with jet beads so tiny they could have been mistaken for just a mere stitch of thread.
