'Neurotic Narcissism' tiles by Peter Ibruegger (scroll down)
Tucked away in The Barbican’s Golden Lane Estate the German-Chinese designer Peter Ibruegger is showing a series of paintings, ceramic tiles and a tapestry exploring both the dualities of his cultural heritage and illusion. Down the perilous iron stairs are walls of tiles with his familiar ‘Neurotic Narcissim’ print, which he first showed back in 2002. Though it’s been around for a while, and achieved something of a cult status, Ibruegger has developed the balance of beauty and lewdness with the repetitive motif in years since we first saw it. http://www.peteribruegger.com
