Zero emission electric vehicles were all the rage at the show, and Nissan joined the fray with a first UK showing of the Denki Cube concept, which originally debuted at last year’s LA Show. Pointedly plugged in to the charge point in its lightning bolt-adorned grill, the Denki Cube eschews swoops for square sides, right angles and ultimate urban practicality. With a major design studio and factory in the UK, Nissan is practically an honorary British brand, although the presence of the GT-R supercar, an otherworldly technology showboat, suggested Japanese hi-tech is still the image they wish to project. The Cube will go on sale in 2009.
