BMW Vision EfficientDynamics
Essentially an X5 Hybrid, the Vision EfficientDynamics concept gives some clues as to how BMW think they can minimize the impact of their top-end SUV. The 4-cylinder engine makes the most of every last millilitre of diesel, while ensuring that CO2 emissions are as scrubbed clean as can be. The final figure - 172 g/km - is a distinct improvement on the segment’s usual performance, thanks to hybrid power, regenerative braking, aerodynamic excellence and a set of roof-mounted solar cells. The details make all the difference. Production cars with similar technology should hit the showrooms soon.
