'Where the Winds Blow', Oona Culley, 2008 (scroll down to read more)
Intrigued by the artistic qualities of shadows and silhouettes, Oona Culley combines large glass screens and digital imagery for her latest work 'Where the Winds Blow'. Using original fine pen drawings of swinging chandeliers, Culley has digitally applied the images to four large glass panels, adorned with billowing semi-transparent curtains.
With each successive panel, the curtains appear more windswept as the chandeliers swing more vigorously conveying a ghost-like quality that reflect the existing chandeliers in the lounge and the many memories left behind.
Basing many of her works around the concept of shadows and silhouettes, Oona Culley was a recent winner of the Celeste Art Prize for her 2007 work 'Shadows and Traces'.
