Zaha Hadid with Patrik Schumacher, the latter in town for the SDO, recently won a competition to construct the Dongdaemoon Design Plaza and Park, joining a handful of international architects who have recently constructed in the city, most notably Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel and Rem Koolhass. All three built for the remarkable Leeum Samsung Museum of Arta showcase for both Korean and International contemporary art.
Álvaro Siza constructed the Anyang Public Art Project just out of the city centre, Daniel Libeskind (also in town for the SDO) the HQ for Hyundai Development Corporation and UN Studio were responsible for the Galleria Department Store.
