UNA: House in Joanópolis, Piracaia Lake, Brazil
This house was designed for friends, and is situated on the border of São Paulo and Minas Gerais states. Its location, a descending slope, influenced its form, views and circulation; from the street only a white tower, supporting the building and the roof garden, is visible. When entering the house, a small tunnel that passes through the landscape, leads to the main entrance. Traditional stone walls frame the building, to secure a level of privacy from the street, and to create a variety of courtyard spaces.
