Hot Pink, JaipurSomehow, museum shops in India always seem a little sad. The best you can expect to find in them is a few old postcards, disposable cameras and perhaps one or two books full of bad pictures of the Taj. So you can imagine the surprise when, right at the exit of the amazing Amber Fort in Jaipur, instead of some dusty souvenir shop, we came across fashion concept store
Hot Pink.
Its selection of fashion for men and women is brilliant: from Rajesh Pratap Singh and Neeru Kumar, to Manish Arora and many more, the store has handpicked interesting creations with a pleasing mix of the understated and the completely kitsch. And their stoles (neatly organised by colour gradient) are fantastic: all the brilliance of India's best textiles without any obvious ethnic influences. It's refreshing, for a change, to see some of the best Indian design in a tourist hotspot.
