Reale Casadonna is the new project of two-Michelin-star chef Niko Romito and his sister Cristiana. Last summer, the ambitious duo relocated their award-winning restaurant from a small village to a restored 2,500 sq m monastery near the town of Castel di Sangro. The work of interior designer Leonardo De Carlo, the new décor combines clean lines with wood and local stone, and artworks by photographer Mario Giacomelli. Locally sourced ingredients are transformed into innovative dishes such as fettuccine with pink pepper and red prawns, or ricotta and mandarin dessert. Six brand new bedrooms allow guests to stay overnight, while a cookery school is due to open in May.
