Drawing on a nautical theme, architect Alison Brooks has clad her design in vertical metal panels, suggestive of a Folkestone scallop shell. The arts centre is part of this downbeat seaside town’s regeneration, and the first performance in the multi-purpose auditorium is scheduled for February 2009.
