Meaning lattice, the 146 subsidised housing units that comprise Celosía in Madrid’s new peripheral town of Sanchinarro are an experiment in concrete. Blanca Lleó had cut their teeth on this exposed moulded concrete on an earlier housing project down the road in Barcelona. It’s certainly a break from the endless sea of uniform, low-level, red brick apartment blocks that surrounds it.
