'We are searching for an architecture that incorporates basic ideas from modernist traditions and local culture,' they say of their work, which often takes inspiration from Alvar Aalto, Renzo Piano and Finnish architect Juhani Pallasmaa. The pair prefer to work in the public domain, designing structures such as this memorial to a 16th-century Rajput king for the Mewar Complex in Udaipur.
