1205 may not be a household name on the sartorial circuit, but we predict it won’t be long before it is. The label is the debut of Paula Gerbase, formerly Head Designer at Kilgour, which is a post she impressively held whilst simultaneously completing her graduate collection at Central Saint Martins.

The first collection from 1205 answers a call for timeless utilitarian clothing. Here traditional tailoring techniques are revamped with a modern sensibility to bring about a directional capsule collection of menswear and womenswear. In Gerbase’s razor-sharp world of tailoring, garments are constructed with precision cuts of contrasting fabrics, treated with a dose of interesting pleat formations and finished with monochromes of greys, blues, blacks and whites.
This film for Spring / Sumer 2010 is an atmospheric journey through the collection, isolating the different looks through Gerbase’s desire to portray the feeling of loneliness in an empty city. Says Gerbase, “the film is my personal romantic view of the buildings that surround us, which I like to appreciate in very early morning walks when the city is still asleep”.
