Issey Miyake's light-filled new flagship store on Brook Street brings together all the brand's labels in a convenient 5,000 sq ft, one-stop lab-like-shop. Designed by Tokujin Yoshioka, Issey Miyake's favoured interior architect of twenty years, the airy, two-level interior takes its cues from Tokyo's Reality Lab.
Its key feature is a line of bright blue artisan-made anodised aluminium panels that are a dramatic contrast to the store's raw-stripped concrete walls and pillars. The space's furniture is also designed by Yoshioka, and includes pieces by Desalto amongst others. The multifaceted blue 'Brook Ottoman' - designed especially for the store - will soon go into production by Italian furniture maker Moroso.
