Mood board: ‘This is not about meticulous dressing, but taking a bit of a bolder approach when it comes to pattern and colour,’ said Tomas Maier of his winter show for Bottega Veneta. Bold, in this case, meant beautiful, as Maier showered his collection in eye-popping dots that created a sensational optical effect for this normally whispering fashion designs.

Best in show: Materials, as always, were worked to a maniacal degree. Some of the best garments were the bold striped embroidered dresses that came caged in a sheath of transparent black lace.

Finishing touches: Though bags are Bottega’s bread and butter, this season our eyes went towards the models’ toes, which were covered in a pump-boot hybrid, crafted from acid yellow stretch metallic leather with embellished toes and low block heels.
