Black by Comme des Garçons
True to resourceful form, Comme des Garçons has just launched its economic downturn-beating Black range from the Dover Street Market store.

Whipped up by Rei Kawakubo as an ‘emergency reaction to the recession’, the Black range has been designed to inject a little downturn-defying glamour into the ailing fashion market.
Along with today’s launch in London, eleven Black range concessions will open over the course of June, with six in Japan, one each in Seoul and Hong Kong, and two entirely new stores in Paris and New York.
Constituting a range of achromatic C des G staples including flat bottomed harem pants (around £160), tiered skirts (around £150), asymmetric double breasted jackets (from £220 - £440) and polka-dot T’s (£50 - £105), the Black collection should provide for even the most frugal of fashion followers with none of the items, bar some of the jackets coming in at over £200.
The Comme des Garçons Black collection will grace stores for 18 months, and will be regularly updated with new items and one-off pieces.
