As I took my seat at the BA (Hons) graduate fashion show, it dawned upon me what kind of pressure these graduates were under to ‘make it work’ – the motivational tagline of all things fashion-related. Wicker chairs in the still-empty front row were labelled with ‘Sir Paul Smith’ and ‘Nadja Swarovski’ (prospective employers in college terms,) though whether they actually made the trek out to York Hall in Bethnal Green to recruit remains unknown to me...
