Vitsoe

New York

British interiors company Vitsoe's New York boutique is a snug former gallery just across from the new Herzog & de Meuron-designed residences on NoHo's sleepy Bond Street. The slim, white-walled, 1,100 sq ft space presents the entire range of Vitsoe's modular furniture and shelving products including Dieter Ram's iconic 606 Universal Shelving System. Designed by Vitsoe's Tommy Dobrzynski, the shop is accented by both vintage and contemporary Rams-designed chairs including the modular 620 series, while cabinets, tables and classic radios complete the shop's retro-mod vibe. Like its products, the store is spare and functional, all the better to guide consumers and designers through the brand's near-endless interiors opportunities with hands-on assistance from the savvy on-site product team. And overseeing it all is a clutch of framed Rams portraits to ensure the master's vision remains front and centre.
