Of late, colourful Spanish designer Jaime Hayón has been toning down his usual exuberance with a series of discreet luxury boutiques. One of his recent works, the Octium Jewelry boutique in Kuwait, brings a boudoir aesthetic to the jewellery store. Set in a spacious corner of the high–end 360 Mall, Hayón's striking interiors have garnered as much attention as the gems. Featuring custom–designed and hand–finished pieces, the store is a soothing capsule of plush soft furnishings, thick blue carpet, gold fittings and cream drapes. Lacquered wood surfaces, glossy purple vitrines and a row of dark wood and glass cylindrical cases, in which the jewels are displayed, complete the luxe look.
