Joseph, Old Bond St

The Old Bond Street store was the second of Joseph’s revamp program to open and came courtesy of British design stalwart Tom Dixon and the Design Research Studio of which he is the Creative Director. This is Dixon’s first foray into the world of fashion retail design, which is hard to believe given how prolific he’s been over the years and how accomplished his first effort is. The store has a singularly futuristic, industrial feel. Grey scaffold frames house the eclectic edit of labels and accessories, whilst imposing black studio lights add an element of glamour, giving the impression of a studio, mid-photo shoot. This theme extends to a mechanical conveyor belt, carrying pictures of looks from the current season’s collection, like photographs, just developed, hanging out to dry.
