Considering Diesel’s Italianate roots, it comes as something of a surprise that the denim deities have only recently opened their first ‘Planet’ store in Milan. Spanning 1,500 square meters and straddling three floors, the gargantuan space certainly lives up to its name. Eager retail beavers can look forward to 360º digital mirrors (should you have been blessed with a behind worthy of such beatification), a Taschen library, wi-fi installations, constantly changing scents sprayed around the store and a tricky to imagine ‘denim wall’ – featuring over 5,000 individual jean pieces. With the addition of a colossal hand-made spiral staircase and curved crystal displays - this is the best that diesel gets.
