Camper

Paris

Designed by the Bouroullec brothers, the new Camper Together store opened in the heart of Paris early this year, steps away from the Centre Pompidou. After collaborating with Jaime Hayon for the boutique on rue du Cherche Midi and Alfredo Häberli for the one on rue Staint Honoré, the brand was eager to work with a renowned French designer. And Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec came as the perfect match. “For us, Camper is an interesting brand since it has proven its open-mindedness over time … which is altogether an ideal gateway to developing creative ideas”, Erwan and Ronan explain. On the other hand, the Spanish brand considers that “the Bouroullec’s claim to fame is the ease with which they come up with creative solutions with a sense of style that always finds elegance in sobriety”. ”By using different shades of red, textile surfaces and a furniture collection designed for private home use, our aim was to create a space that was both evident and surprising, and capable of triggering sensations: as the red conveys a warm atmosphere, the backstitched blankets used to cover parts of the walls muffle sounds and bring dynamic splashes of colours, while the household furniture confers an air of simplicity”, the duo concludes.
