Now tile aficionados in the Far East can get a fix at Bisazza, which made its Asian debut in February. Showing shrewd marketing instincts, the showroom is ensconced in Minami Aoyama, one of Tokyo's high-end fashion-and-design quarters. Carlo Dal Bianco, who heads up the Bisazza Design Studio, has worked his magic on the store’s interiors by configuring the space into half a dozen deluxe room sets, each aimed at showing off the versatility and delightfulness of all things mosaic. The entrance hall, decked out in the geometrical motif of Righe Oro Bianco, sets the tone of the showroom with a sense of stylish gravitas. And should customers want to peruse the whole collection, they make their way to the library where every mosaic model is on show. Nor has Dal Bianco skimped on the furniture. He’s picked some suitably grandiose pieces from Bisazza’s very own Home collection. These include works by Andrée Putman, Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders, Studio Job, Jaime Hayon or a Jürgen Mayer H. Meanwhile, a baker’s dozen of Home’s Marie Antoinette chandeliers illuminate the proceedings.
