Perfume salons are few and far between the world over, so we feel particularly green with envy that it’s Varsovian noses currently enjoying such a charmingly modernist one.
Located on fashionable Mokotowska, alongside boutiques selling Dries Van Noten, Jil Sander and Comme des Garçons, Galilu Olfactory is the new offshoot of the company’s cosmetic store in the Hotel Europejski. Inspired by the midcentury style, architect Marcin Kwietowicz designed the airy interior and installed furniture by Isamu Noguchi, Charles and Ray Eames, Jean Prouvé and David Weeks.
Aimed at those who want to steer clear of more generic offerings, the salon focuses on unique perfume brands from all over the world, including Miller Harris, Miller et Bertaux, Serge Lutens and Etat Libre d’Orange, with plans to update the range on a regular basis. For those a little daunted by the endless rows of colourful bottles, expert shopgirls and regular perfume workshops can help to make scents of it all.
