The much-celebrated Belgian designer finally set foot in Paris last February. Installed in a spacious 17th-century former bookshop on the quai de Seine, next door to the bouquinistes and Beaux-Arts, the elegant two-story Parisian apartment has been decorated with antiques and art chosen by Van Noten lui-meme.
Hand-picked in Rome, the central Art Deco chandelier has since travelled through London and Antwerp to get a lifting. Preserving the left-bank values of tradition, discretion and authenticity, the boutique could be mistaken for an antiquaire, and the luxurious, colourful collection for a work of art.
