The second half of the Noughties has seen a welcome return to more intimate retail environments foregrounding quality service and design. A prime example is Donna Karan’s new London flagship. Gone are the sparse cavernous spaces. Instead, the inherent elegance of an 18th Century townhouse now houses Karan’s supremely covetable garments.
Working alongside long-standing architectural practice, Bonetti/ Kozerski Studio, the interplay of period piece structure with contemporary style has resulted in a serenely Zen garden space that dissolves barriers between interior and exterior whilst echoing Karan’s effortlessly chic designs.
