Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld’s well-thought-out design is making the new Livraria da Vila bookshop in the Jardins district one of our favourite São Paulo spots to relax. The three-storey interior is designed around the books, with each of its three interconnected floors devoted to a different genre.
Featuring low-ceilinged spaces, dark tones, soft lighting, vintage furniture and, most importantly, row upon row of full-height shelves, the warm and inviting store also includes an unexpected surprise – custom-designed revolving doors with glass bookshelves, which are sure to get the attention of passers-by.
