Information
Kerem Erginoglu, 40, and Hasan Calislar, 37, founded Erginoglu & Calislar in Istanbul in 1993. The firm was lucky from the start, winning international competitions, which, combined with their other commissions, allowed the architects to demonstrate their abilities early on in their careers and also promote architecture in Turkey. The practice believes that architecture is a global language.

Inspiration
It is not just one single style that influences and inspires the Turkish team. Their aim is to try and understand all styles, historical, traditional and contemporary, which is why they travel to experience worldwide architecture first-hand. Living in Istanbul is also an important architectural experience, with the city's cocktail of layers and styles.
Innovation
For the architects, the building itself is the main priority and they are always on the lookout for new technological developments; a research that is also part of their personal interests. They like to adopt new technologies; for example, taking advantage of the lightness of carbon Kevlar materials used to make Formula 1 cars and incorporating them into their designs
