Having spent his youth sketching and ‘talking a lot about the shape of things,’ Jonatan Lennman decided that it felt right to go into design. It seems to have been the right decision; he was swiftly snapped up after graduation by Front to complete an internship. The delight he derives from his work is, he says, quite simply in ‘finding the right materials, building by hand and moving in Rhinoceros-space.’ What inspires Lennman most is, he proffers truthfully, coffee, and for the time being he is happy to see what comes his way post his internship. ‘I am hoping for constant progress,’ he says sagely. Though he will only say of his style that it is ‘slow, occasionally fast’, we love the pared down, almost brutal minimalism of his series of black and white tables.
