Stressed out by London and home-sick for her native Denmark, Sophie Bille Brahe decided to create miniature cityscapes to be worn on the hand. Based on a peaceful metropolis in her imagination, she was able to find something poetic in the urban landscape surrounding her. Formally trained in goldsmithing prior to her degree at the RCA, Bille Brahe has crafted whole skylines out of gold and silver, set with baguette or brilliant cut diamond windows. Bille Brahe likens the rings to the scene inside a snow dome – the ultimate portable escapism for the weary urbanite.
