Barely graduated and this enterprising designer has already opened a retail space and showroom specialising in accessories. ‘Sometimes you have to let your inspiration go – throw away the magazines, close the books. What matters is seeing the intrinsic beauty in your creations. Finding a way to capture and increase that. My internship at Bertjan Pot’s studio taught me what goes in is as important as what comes out. It’s like being in a laboratory of great experiments. It appears playful, yet there is an awareness of what the product is about and what is has to become.’
