The typography typical of Marco Balesteros is raw, energetic and experimental. 'I am interested in reversing some of the techniques of Jean-Luc Goddard who added chapters and title pages to films. I try to add the rhythm and energy of cinema to the typography of the books I produce. I am also interested in the kind of rawness that was evident in the political posters of the 1970s, when resources were scarce and often all they had was the typography to get them noticed.'
Most influenced by:
The posters of the Atelier Populaire, produced during May 1968 in Paris, and those of Portuguese graphic designer and artist Joćo Abel Manta; as well as Punk rock album art.
