Wallpaper* Design Awards 2011

Large enough to contain two cups and half a litre of coffee, but small enough to fit comfortably into a bag, this clever design features a simple elastic band that fixes the cups in place while they are not in use, and can then be turned into a handle for pouring, transforming the flask into a coffee pot in one swift action. Its creator Jörg Boner, whose clients include ClassiCon, Louis Poulsen and Veuve Clicquot, graduated in 1996 from what was then the School for Design Basel, and established his design studio in Zurich in 2001. In addition to his work as a product designer, Boner teaches at Lausanne's acclaimed ECAL and is also art director of Swiss furniture brand Nanoo.
