01. Best Domestic Design

Alfresco dining has long been the preserve of down-under desperados and those with a taste for carcinogens. These days, however, barbecuing has stepped up a gear, and Piero Lissoni’s grill is at the head of the pack. Designed for Alessi (in collaboration with barbecue specialist Fochista), the modular ‘Barbicù’– a divergence from the monsters of American backyards and the mini-grills synonymous with wet British summers – can be swivelled into various configurations to suit your space and needs. Slot the barbecue into a service trolley for a moveable feast; attach worktops and windshields; and add utensils. Lissoni, known for his intuitive, ergonomic approach, has created a barbecue as user-friendly as they come.
