Triflow announces its Future Talents award-winner

When leading brasswear manufacturer, Triflow Concepts, launched a competition to seek out the latest name in bathroom design a few months back, we had little idea the contest would prove so fierce.

Airing a request for entrants to come up with an innovative tap design in time for the London Design Festival, the competition winners and runners up were announced at 100% Design in Earl's Court, earlier this week

Judged by Zaha Hadid – who herself designed a tap for Triflow – interior designer David Collins, and Wallpaper's Editor-in-Chief, Tony Chambers - the winner, British designer John Walsh will have his tap taken into production at the Triflow factory on top of a cash prize.

A creative with a wide range of experience designing furniture products for clients ranging from British Airways to M&C Saatchi, Walsh’s winning design, ‘Trees’ - in all it’s chromium angular glory - resembles a series of futuristic tree branches growing out of the sink, and is more of a bathroom feature than a caulked-up functional item.

Runners-up include the sleek, tubular lines of Navigator by Simon Donald, a curvy, quirky creation by Yo Guoquon, a flattened ribbon like ‘Twist’ tap by Takang Tsu & Emily Chang and a space age touch-screen interface built-in sink tap by Omar Dabaan.
