Studio Job turn to The Gospel

Design

The Dutch design institution, the Zuiderzee Museum will kick off this year's Salone season with an exhibition from the talented duo, Studio job. With a typically duplicitous edge, Studio Job has created The Gospel, consisting of two large rosewood and lead sculptures and a rusty cast iron tea service, all with a biblical, stained-glass aesthetic.

The sculptures adopt jarring imagery of war along with rather more traditional icons - the fact that the launch is taking place in a little Milanese choister on the Via dei Cavalieri del Santo Sepolcro only adds to the allure.

The hulking rusty tea service that sits alongside, will be produced in a hand-made twelve-piece collectors set, along with an industrially produced version from Dutch porcelain manufacturer Royal Tichelaar Makkum. Bringing together high culture and the everyday, Studio Job set a characteristically contrasting tone for their Salone contribution.
