Keeping things interesting in the field of stone surfaces is what Italian company Salvatori does best – and its latest opening on London’s Wigmore Street is proof of that. Best known for its innovative transformations of natural stone, the brand offers a wide portfolio of marbles and textured rock, and has applied its skills to bathroom essentials such as sinks and tubs. All of this is on show in the new store, created in a collaboration with architects Piero Lissoni and Elisa Ossino.

The two-storey space not only presents the extensive material library of the company, but it does so with a discreet creative flair that celebrates its savoir-faire. Upon entering, visitors are immersed in the Salvatori universe, walking through theatrical wings clad in stone and marble that offer panoramas of a number of the company’s bathroom collections. Downstairs, a darker space with nooks and niches gives a further idea of the brand’s capabilities, featuring bathroom displays and home collections that include tiles and furniture.
For the occasion, Salvatori created a small celebratory collection. Paying tribute to the still-lifes of Italian painter Giorgio Morandi, the brand worked with Ossino to create a range of stone and marble bottles, small objects that highlight the company's vast material archives as well as its enthusiastic ability to push the brand's creativity to pastures new.
