LomoWorldWall
100,000 images from the global Lomography crowd will be displayed on a giant LomoWorldWall in Trafalgar Square, where 1000 cameras will also be given to members of the public with the intention that they photograph London over the course of the festival, upload the images onto the Lomography website and then a selection will be included in the interactive final part of the exhibition. The festival will also host the Lomography World Congress, at which international delegates at the forefront of global analogue photography are being invited to take part in a series of discussions about the topic.

Maarten Baas: Sculpt Series
Wallpaper* favourite, blowtorch wielding Maarten Baas is showing his latest collection ‘Sculpt’ at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery. Leaving behind the charred furniture of his celebrated ‘Smoke and Clay’ series, ‘Sculpt’, his new work, pushes the boundaries of scale instead. Oversized chairs, cupboards, tables and drawers are on offer and a perfect example of ‘Design Art’ in demonstrating how furniture, pushed the notion of simple functionality, can become objects of art as well as design. Each piece is limited to an edition of 8 however, retaining a sense that these designs are still for sale, not just works of art in a gallery.
When: 14th to 25th September
Where: Carpenters Workshop Gallery, 2 Michael Road, SW6 2AD

Townhouse DK

This charming project sees Danish architect Rene Hougaard together with London architects CGL and the Danish embassy, converting a very traditional London Mews house into a modern Danish home- Townhouse DK – structured, furnished and decorated entirely with products from Denmark. The idea is to showcase Danish design as it would appear in situ in someone’s home rather than presenting in a showroom alongside a thousand other exhibits. The house is open to the public until the end of December and will play host to special programmes on art, design and architecture throughout.
When: 15th September to 20th December
Where: 20 Egerton Garden Mews, SW3 2EH
