Helmrinderknecht gallery pops up in Zurich
Roving pop-up gallery Helmrinderknecht has arrived in Switzerland, bringing with it works by an interesting roster of talent, including Dutch design studio Makkink & Bey and Swiss industrial designer Nicolas Le Moigne. Titled 'Edition 21/ Zürich', the show has temporarily commandeered the entrance hall of an office building in the centre of Zurich.
Founded in 2009 in Berlin, the contemporary design gallery exhibits works by emerging and established names. Previously it has shown everything from student works from Switzerland's ECAL University, to furniture by the likes of Catalan industrial designer Marti Guixé, in an exhibition curated by Wallpaper* editor-at-large, Sophie Lovell.
Also in the line-up is Swiss artist Fréderic Dedelley - who is showing his architectural bronze vessels from the series 'Objets mélancoliques'- and German designer Judith Seng, who has contributed a collection of lacquered wooden objects that give a pop of colour to the exhibition.
Curators Petra Maendler Helm and Martin Rinderknecht have also joined forces with architecture and design bookshop Hochparterre Büche to add another element to the show.
The Helmrinderknecht exhibition will swiftly be followed with another back on German soil. The location is still to be confirmed, so keep your eyes peeled to see where it pops up next.
