In the spirit of retail’s increasingly multi-dimensional initiatives, we bring you news of Urban Zen, the brainchild of a lady who knows a thing or two about the retail industry. Donna Karan might have made a name for herself through luxury fashion but Urban Zen has weightier priorities at heart than providing customers with the perfect LBD.
In fact forget body-con altogether. Karan describes the clothing she sells in Urban Zen as ‘cosy, comfortable, 24-hour clothes’, and is keen to emphasise that the premise behind her hand-selection of stock is about the preservation of culture. This includes, books, jewellery, artwork, essential oils and music, sourced from around the globe and housed not in a glossy, superbrand emporium, but in an understated, raw concrete space.
