Art

You may well have been wondering where Hedi Slimane, the man responsible for all things skinny in men's fashion, has been hiding of late, after a prolific seven years at the creative helm of Dior Homme. It turns out the designer has been polishing his skills as a curator, the result of which is an exhibition, 'Sweet Bird of Youth', which opens on 3rd July in Berlin.

The title of the exhibition is borrowed from a Tennessee Williams play and refers to a transitory stage in the development from childhood to adulthood. The works on show have largely been created by friends of Hedi Slimane around this theme and all are linked by a monochromatic colour palette.

The exhibition of paintings, photographs, sculptures and installations demonstrates the ability of art to go further than words in expressing the inexpressible. As well as haunting photographs by Slimane himself there are powerful interpretations by Terence Koh, Douglas Kolk, Ryan McGinley and Gardar Eide Einarsson, to name just a few of our favourite artists involved.
