100% Design seems to get bigger and better every year, and this year is no different with the debuts of 100% Futures, a showcase of the best upcoming talent, and the 100% Design London Awards to look forward to.
While award ceremonies are hardly new to 100% Design - various small ceremonies have been held around the shows in previous years - this will be the first year that all the categories are combined and celebrated in an awards ceremony that promises to be something of a glittering event.
The categories are diverse, everything from sustainable building solutions to lighting innovation is covered, but the one we are most interested in (which may have something to do with our presence on the judging panel) is the award for Overall Contribution to Design.
As you can imagine, this was not an easy category to judge. Each judge was asked to bring to the table the person or team from any contemporary interior design discipline they felt had made the most outstanding contribution to design this year. Nominees were as diverse as to be expected from such a broad remit, but after only a few hours and ever fewer tears and sulks, three names came to the fore: BarberOsgerby, Jaime Hayon and Matthew Hilton.

All the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 21 September. For the full list of winners, click back here on the 24 September.
