The 60-second interview

Patrik Fredrikson from Sweden and Ian Stallard from the UK met whilst students at Central Saint Martins and formed Fredrikson Stallard as a joint practice in 2005, based in east London. Heralded as pioneers of a new wave of Avant-Garde design, they were runners-up as our Designer of the Year at the 2007 Wallpaper* Design Awards.

At Salone 2008 they are showing Cavern Collection for Swarovski Crystal Palace, a series of concrete, wood and leather furniture pieces with cavernous openings encrusted with Swarovski crystals and lit from within. They are also showing Cavern Rug as part of the collection, designed in collaboration with Tai Ping.
