Vik Muniz’s cover for our ‘Born in Brazil’ issue features a photograph of his paper cut-out of Rio’s Vidigal favela. Says the artist: ‘I thought it would work as a sort of perceptual puzzle (you don’t know what you are seeing at first), but also as something that would suggest a tactile experience; you are holding paper and a picture of paper simultaneously.’
