We’ve all got to do our bit for the environment these days so for those who want to cut their emissions without reducing their automobile acreage, Lexus have just premiered a new hybrid version of their top of the range limousine.

The LS 600h features the world’s first full time, full hybrid V8 powertrain and the beefy 5.0 litre engine rivals a standard V12 petrol engine in performance but with emissions and consumption that are closer to those of a less perky yet more traditionally economical diesel.

The LS 600h is packed with tech too; taking the driving experience – should you choose to accept all the assistance – somewhat closer to flying a fully automated Airbus.

With its stereo camera and radar pre-crash safety system both front and rear, plus driver monitor, adaptive variable suspension, permanent all wheel drive and self parking facility you feel somewhat superfluous as the chauffeur.

If you go for the long wheelbase version, then it is worth considering the additional rear seat relaxation pack that extends out like an executive class plane seat and has an inbuilt massage system.

It won’t be long now before we can all just snuggle down in the back, shut our eyes and tell the car to take us home.
