When the concrete pavements or scheduled downpours get too much for your feet, there's a novel way of getting from A to Z in Tortona this year, namely in a flower-designed Fiat 500. The Flower Council of Holland has commissioned Arne Quinze, FredriksonStallard, Karim Rashid, Studio Job and Arik Levy to design their own covering for the Fiat 500, which they've duly coated in flowers.

The fleet was unveiled early yesterday afternoon and, after a short while precision parking so the five were in line, there was much amusement and quite a bit of bewilderment from the gathering crowds. The initiative? To raise awareness of the use of cut flowers, though we have to admit it's the content not the concept that tickles our fancy in this case.
Located at the entrance to Superstudio Piu, lifts can be hitched on a roll-up and ride basis. And of the designs on offer, we recommend being seen in either Studio Job's vaguely macabre monochrome car, with white chrysanthemums and black beetles, or FredriksonStallard's grease lightning flame design. Though perhaps steer clear if hayfever's a problem...
